6am: I woke up before my alarm because I had a dream that I was about to go on for a dance break in my high school musical but I couldn’t find my tap shoes in the dark backstage.
7am: Got out of bed to take my morning pill- a probiotic that is sure to fix everything.
7:30am: morning skincare with SPF. I started using SPF because I am afraid of skin cancer, but now people are telling me it’s important because my neck shows the first signs of aging. I think my first signs of aging are that I’ve added more fiber to my diet and I got excited about buying a new microfiber duster. But they don’t talk about microfiber in Vogue.
8am: breakfast.
9am: I read and responded to some emails. Every day is a chance to receive the email that could change my life- but usually it’s just ConEd begging for my attention.
10am: I arrived on the train platform- oh look! My friend Jessica is getting in the same car- what a fun coincidence, and a gentle reminder that no matter what the day has in store, at least it started with this fun surprise.
10:00:43am: A guy got on the train right after me and Jessica, made direct eye contact with us and said “YOU’RE GOING TO DIE TODAY”
10:12am: We transferred trains to the C train and- omg- we ran into more girlfriends! Cece and Raj were on this train and now the four of us are commuting together. Being with the girls almost makes me forget about random death threats. Almost.
10:33am: We arrived at work and I tried a new spindrift flavor. Today was “Fuji Apple.”
10:34am: Did my daily check-in to make sure the girls really went to space. I reflected on how sending Katy Perry into space for 11 minutes fixed everything. Kind of like my probiotics.
10:35am-4:31pm: wallow
4:32pm: Opened my phone to a DM from a guy who went on one date with me 2 years ago then ghosted me then reached out two years later to ask for advice on getting a job where I work
4:33pm: Went for a walk- I like to do this before it gets too dark out. Then, it’s inside hours for the rest of the night. Remember, the oracle on the train this morning said I was gonna “die today” so I can never be too careful.
